According to a survey conducted by the Levada Center, 71% of Russians are in favor of bringing Russia closer to the United States and Europe.
This indicator showed a 21% increase compared to last year and approached the maximum figure in the entire history of modern Russia (76% in 2000).
Negative attitudes toward the US and Europe have fallen sharply this month, which analysts associate primarily with the dramatically changing position of the federal media, as a result of actively supporting Donald Trump in his opposition to Hillary Clinton. Thus, over the past 2 months, the figure of Russians negatively related to the United States fell from 64% to 56%, to the EU - from 58% to 54%.
The editorship of uznayvse.ru recalls: in October 2016, the Levada-Center survey results, according to which Russians' confidence in the government decreased by half, and the trust index for the government fell by 6%.
